- Satisfaction – 71% of respondents are satisfied with Phabricator, close to the 73% satisfied in 2023
- Gerrit commits – satisfaction with Phabricator is higher among respondents with more commit activity on Gerrit
- Feature ranking – Like last year, “shared space for staff and volunteers” was the #1 ranked Phabricator feature
# Phabricator use over the past year
We asked survey takers, “In the past year, have you used Wikimedia Phabricator?”
- The majority (90.4%) of respondents said they used Phabricator during the past year
- 7.2% said they did not use it during the past year
- 2.4% were unsure
# Phabricator satisfaction
We asked survey takers, “How satisfied are you with Phabricator?”
Of the survey takers who indicated they had used Phabricator in the past year,
- The majority (71%) of respondents said they were satisfied with Phabricator
- 9% said they were neither satisfied nor dissatisfied
- 18% said they were dissatisfied
- 2% were unsure
# Phabricator satisfaction (by role)
Of the survey takers who indicated they had used Phabricator in the past year, all role groups had a majority indicate they were satisfied with Phabricator.
# Phabricator satisfaction (by tenure)
Of the survey takers who indicated they had used Phabricator in the past year, almost all tenure groups had more respondents indicate they were satisfied with Phabricator than dissatisfied.
# Phabricator satisfaction (by commit activity on Gerrit)
Of the survey takers who indicated they had used Phabricator in the past year, respondents with more commit activity on Gerrit were more satisfied with Phabricator than the other two groups; but all three groups had a majority of respondents indicate they were satisfied with Phabriactor.
# Phabricator features ranked by priority
We asked survey takers, “How would you rank the importance of the following features of Phabricator? Rank the following from 1 (most important) to 7 (least important).”
Respondents were asked to rank the following features:
- Shared space for staff and volunteers
- Availability of workboards
- Availability of workboard / team metrics
- Availability of the conduit API
- Integrations with other tools (Gerrit / GitLab / IRC)
- Ability to track the work of other individuals / teams
- Shared historical context
- Another feature not listed above
Like last year, “shared space for staff and volunteers”; was the most commonly ranked #1 feature, and the feature with the highest average rank.
The features with the lowest average ranks—like last year—were “availability of workboard/team metrics” and “availability of the conduit API”.
# Feedback
We asked survey takers, “Please share any other feedback you may have about Phabricator” Some themes emerged from the answers.
Search woes
it's really hard to search for issues. I couldn't find any date criteria (only closed/open) and it's not even possible to sort results :( Or if it is, it is well hidden.
NOTE: Phabricator's Maniphest advanced search supports "order by" and many types of dates:
- Closed after/before
- Updated after/before
- Open after/before
Though this search page is harder to find than the default search.
very glad we are moving to phorge, it's a good choice. but the search, dang...
