FIXME Organization of main areas
[edit]The current distribution of areas in the sidebar doesn't feel solid. It's not clear what do we want to map and therefore it is difficult to tell how to map it in the sidebar. All in all it feel that sidebar belongs to a past time, not reflecting the current content and purpose of mediawiki.org.
One possibility is to organize the sidebar around 4 clear areas of activity:
- Sysadmins learning to get MediaWiki running in their servers.
- Editors learning to use MediaWiki.
- Developers learning to create extensions, gadgets, apps, etc.
- Contributors willing to get involved.
FIXME key pages missing
[edit]- How to contribute - Perhaps we should have an own section for "Contribute" including the links to the areas listed at How to contribute.
- API:Main page
- Developer hub
- Manual:MediaWiki Developer's Guide?
- Project:Calendar?
- Documentation? although the whole Support area in the sidebar needs cleaning.
- Category:Tutorials?
