Hi all, on page -> https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Statistics the sentence 'The main...' of first element remains untranslated whatever is the language. For example in FR or ES -> Estadísticas de páginas Páginas de contenido (The main namespace, manual pages, and extension namespaces are counted as content namespaces.)

You can (almost) always get the name of a translation key by using ?uselang=qqx in the url. See also: Help:System_message#Finding_messages_and_documentation
ok, it is on MediaWiki. But now https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Statistics-articles-desc/fr gives the Fr string in english and as translator admin i cannot modify it. Strange. MediaWiki warning requests to make the translation on translate wiki but on translatewiki the message contents is empty -> https://translatewiki.net/w/i.php?title=MediaWiki:Statistics-articles-desc&action=edit This is also strange.
Similar situation has appeared on the past where we have been balloted between tmw and mw: how to make such type of translation available to translators and where, and has ended by manual upd source of a volunteer (MSG cleaned in twn and moved in mw for translation). This should be made more clear.
In any case, my Fr proposal for https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Statistics-articles-desc/fr is the following in case one source sould be manually updated:
L'espace de noms principal, les espaces de noms des manuels, ainsi que ceux des extensions sont comptés comme des espaces de noms de contenu.

You need to have 'editinterface' permission to edit that and even then that's discouraged. As you already know translations are done on Translatewiki (but see below).

The message is indeed empty in source, it's upto individual wikis to fill. The English string was added on mediawiki.org manually. You can do the same on Translatewiki if you have the necessary permissions.

Done locally. Ideally it should be added on Translatewiki, but I just understand it might be confusing to add translations where the source is not defined.
