Translation Services not available

Hi all, I've been looking to try and do some content translation for pool articles to/from the German Wikipedia, which in places is better equipped. However, the automated tool says that this is not available.

I understand the need for this to stop people pushing suitably badly sourced/poorly translated articles to wikipedia mainspace on masse. However, I would like to put a rough translation to draft space, and then edit this (and add better sourcing). I've been doing this manually for a while, but is this something this tool could offer me? As it currently works, it actually takes more time than doing via word.

Thanks for the feedback, @Lee Vilenski

We have been following a gradual process for enabling machine translation on different languages. Getting community feedback is very useful to move this process forward, and I mentioned your comment in this ticket to capture the request.

The new version of Content translation provides new mechanisms to control in more detail how much of the original translation is modified, which encourages a proper use of machine translation and provides better tools for the community to review them at a larger scale. This will contribute to benefit from the good use of machine translation while minimizing the problematic cases.

Thanks!

Ok, no worries. Am I just assuming that German is a Work in Progress?

I think my biggest question going forward would be if things such as infoboxes could be integrated into the system (as a lot of infoboxes are liked on metawiki)? Currently when I've looked, the translator attempts to change these into markup, which isn't much help. Is this something that would be possible?
