Roadmap for improving course editing and viewing
[edit]High impact
[edit]- Section editing for course page content
- Edits to course page content show up on user contributions
- Links in course page content show up in "What links here"
- Rework the layout of course page, so that it is more navigable (between a sectioned page text, and the students table and summary table) and prettier
- Make students' own entry in the students table more accessible, possibly by duplicating it at the top of the page
- Normal-ish diff for changes in page content
Medium impact
[edit]- Improve design of course page edit UI, make extra fields collapsible
- Add preview feature for editing course page content
- Add editing toolbar for editing course page content (on wikis that lack the WikiEditor extension)
- Add information on transcluded pages for editing course page content
Low impact
[edit]- Use the mw-ui-button styles for all buttons
- Add helpful messages to course page edit UI
- Message that adding students and articles can be done from the "Read" tab, if you have sufficient rights
- Message that you can't change additional course info if you don't have sufficient rights
- Additional course info shown (though uneditable) on UI for users that can only edit course page content
- Everything except the enroll token should be viewable
- Auto-watchlist-adding for editing and creating course pages and course talk pages
- Since we have course talk notifications for students and others, this is now a very minor feature.
