Content Translation
[edit]Updates from the ongoing development and deployment for Content Translation. (Newsletter)
Development update
[edit]- Personalized recommendations from the http://recommend.wmflabs.org/ by research team is integrated to suggestions system of CX. Users will get suggestions based on their previous translations as well.
- The suggestions system now supports manually curated campaigns based on a category. Articles existing in a category in one language but not in another can be created as a campaign.
- The UX of suggestions view improved further. More improvements and features planned for coming weeks
- Design and development of parallel corpora based on translations in content translation started(https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T111905)
- The cxserver is getting migrated to service-runner. The rewritten version is planned to deploy in December 2015
- Miscellaneous bug fixes based on user feedback

Development update
[edit]Translate had a lot of code maintenance:
- The number and size of master database queries in message index were reduced significantly
- Code style checkers were added and made to run automatically. Issues found by them were fixed (Thanks to Željko Filipin and Paladox)
- Large cleanup to token handling
Universal Language Selector also had code cleanups.
- The usage of jQuery.tipsy was reduced due to performance reasons (thanks to Ori Livneh).
- A compatibility issue with Internet Explorer 8 was fixed (although the support for that browser will soon be dropped in general).
- Input methods for Yoruba were added by update of jQuery.ime library.

Updates from translatewiki.net volunteers
[edit]- Raymond handled the downfall of localisation updates caused by non-standard git settings of Gather, RelatedArticles and similar (T120581).
