Wikimedia Hackathon 2023/Venue

Venue: Technopolis
The hackathon will take place in the cultural venue Technopolis, in the city center of Athens.

- The venue is a public space and consists of several buildings. We will mostly use the ones named "Machine Works", "Warehouse" and "Innovathens". Some courtyard areas will also be available. See also the Floor plan of Technopolis.
How to find our building
The main entrance of Technopolis is located on Persefonis street. If you arrive to the venue by foot from the Lighthouse hotel, or by bus, you may find the service entrance first, that may be closed. If so, you just have to walk along the road a bit more to find the main entrance.
Then, walking on the right side of the café, you will find the main Hackathon building, with white tables outside and a Wikipedia logo at the main door, where the registration/help desk is waiting for you.

Buildings, rooms and opening times
Here is an overview of the spaces we can use, what is their purpose, and when they will be available.
Please do not leave your equipment unattended, and always keep an eye on your stuff! Although a security service will be present, please keep in mind that Technopolis is a public space where other events take place (exhibitions, concerts). Please do not leave stuff in the rooms overnight, and make sure you take everything with you before leaving.

Our venue is a historical and cultural place, and we are the first Wikimedia hackathon they are hosting! We did our best to upgrade the electricity infrastructure, but some issues remain. In particular, the workshop rooms will have a very limited amount of power plugs, and not everyone will be able to have their devices (laptop, phone, etc.) constantly on charge.
We kindly ask you to charge your devices every night before coming to the venue. During the day, please be mindful of the available slots and make sure that everyone gets a chance to charge their devices when needed.
Technopolis is a public space, with other events taking place at the same time as the Hackathon and lots of people walking around. Always keep an eye on your equipment and keep your valuable belongings with you.
Sunday dinner: Brown Acropol hotel
On Sunday evening, from 17:00 to 21:00, a goodbye dinner is offered to all Hackathon participants.
The dinner will take place on the rooftop of Brown Acropol Hotel, Panagi Tsaldari, Pireos 1, Athina 105 52 (see on Google Maps).
Note for people staying at Brown Lighthouse hotel: this is a different hotel (from the same company). Just on the other side of the roundabout from the hotel where you're staying.
