Announcements, Information, Questions
[edit]- Privacy by Design policy and related introductory talks last week and this week
- Everyone involved with product development is encouraged to sign up and attend one of them
- The (informal) WMF product group is working on their response/thoughts on the draft/proposed form of the Technical Collaboration Guideline and the process that is creating it
- Draft of a proposal of some guidelines, so non-binding
- Context somewhat missing for product managers
- Dan will chat to Katie about it in their 1:1 on Thursday
- [wikitech-l] Google Code-in 2016 has been announced: A contest for 13-17 year old students. November 2016. For more info, see: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Google_Code-in_2016#Mentors.27_corner
- Reminder that this weekend the US will end daylight saving (Europe already flipped this past weekend)
- Kevin will be in SF Nov 7-10
- Katie in office Nov 8-9
- Reminder that Dec 26-30 are all WMF holidays
- Danâs visa is approved, issued, and his passport is being posted back to him :-)
- Planned return date to SF: 11th November
- If I get my passport back early I may try and change my flight to earlier⌠but I bet theyâll charge me $$$
- Making progress on hiring a contract programmer for maps (but not done yet)
- Clarification that Yuri's "tabular data on commons" is unrelated to the big "structured metadata on commons" initiative that recently got funding. There is also the "multi content revision" RFC from Daniel, which is also not directly related.
