This is a wonderful, simple idea. I think long-term we could use a more robust 'draft' area for things that still need clearance for any reason. (Legal - (c) and personality rights, Social - blp concerns, Content - glam uploads that are being sifted through and cleaned up to avoid flooding RC on a project, &c.)

Rather than deleting anything in the draft area after a set period of time, we could hide them from view with a revision that says "this upload expired", but allowing visitors to unhide them if they come back later and realize they didn't complete the process.

We would still delete spam, copyvios, &c as usual. Sj (talk) 20:38, 11 June 2014 (UTC)
