Hello Pulkit,

Thank you for choosing and working on this task. I appreciate your efforts.

Unfortunately, at the moment your essay is of limited use to the Wikimedia technical community. Your essay seems to be limited to a basic description of mediawiki.org's user interface. This isn't really the goal of this task.

The goal of this task is to explore Wikimedia's technical community, code and tools to help us identify possible pain points for newcomers and potential contributors. As explained in the task's description, your exploration can focus on a specific area (e.g.: setting up a development environment, finding documentation about a specific part of the software, translating the software, etc.) or be more general, but simply describing the user interface of the wiki is insufficient; it doesn't help us improve the experience for newcomers.

Therefore, I invite you to dig further into a specific topic and share your experience along the way. It doesn't have to be about coding, but it does need to contain some technical content.

As a sidenote, the ASCII art logo puzzles me; I don't understand its purpose or usefulness.

I hope this feedback clarifies the goal of this task and will help you improve your essay. Let me know if you have questions, concerns or comments. guillom 14:03, 1 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
