mobile.js - https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Topic:Vqy1kx6q4e0bzvyb help

[edit]

Hello,

I see, you have used the mobile.js in your mediawiki (Topic:Vqy1kx6q4e0bzvyb). How can I this file (to get a navigation with Links) in my MediaWiki? I use version 1.42.

Thank you. Kyebert (talk) 08:35, 15 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hello,
There is no file. This is custom code that is added to MediaWiki:Mobile.js. This is an interface page that is built-into MediaWiki. Enter "MediaWiki:Mobile.js" in your wiki's search bar. If it does not already exist, create the page. Lady G2016 (talk) 00:34, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank's. But if I type "https://neu.veikkos-archiv.com/index.php?title=MediaWiki:Mobile.js" there is only the message
"MediaWiki:Mobile.js
/* Das JavaScript hier wird für die Benutzer der mobilen Website geladen. */"
(I'm logged in as admin)
What ist necessary to do? Kyebert (talk) 15:45, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Edit the page. Copy and paste the code into the page after that line.
(The English translation is "/* The JavaScript here is loaded for the mobile site users. */") Lady G2016 (talk) 20:34, 18 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes. I know. But the problem is, that I have no rights to edit this page? Do you know why (I have alredy admin rights)?

I compared my rights with your WikiSysop rights.
"MediaWiki:" is an interface page. Add the "Oberflächenadministratoren" (interface-admin) group to your account. Hopefully, you will be able to edit the page. Lady G2016 (talk) 13:06, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
"Oberflächenadministratoren" - check. Now I can edit MediaWiki:Mobile.js .... but still there is no effect: https://imgur.com/UlvUSK5
Are there any other settings necessary? Kyebert (talk) 16:43, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Use the "live" URLs in the anchor link. My code is a prototype to show the technique.
For example - In your wiki page MediaWiki:Mobile.js, href="/wiki/Link_1" can be href="https://www.veikkos-archiv.com//index.php?title=Hauptseite" Lady G2016 (talk) 20:51, 19 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
I had already configured this:https://www.veikkos-archiv.com//index.php?title=MediaWiki:Mobile.js But till now there is no effect on this site... ??? Kyebert (talk) 09:00, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
PS: I already tried this Skin:Minerva Neue/Hooks/MobileMenu - but also with no effect Kyebert (talk) 12:38, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Try using the complete URL in the "href" properties, as https://www.veikkos-archiv.com/index.php?title=Ortsverzeichnis_mit_historischen_Informationen
I see a double "//" after www.veikkos-archiv.com. Perhaps that should be a single "/" as https://www.veikkos-archiv.com/index.php? Lady G2016 (talk) 16:24, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
"//" - I found the problem in the LocalSettings.php:
$wgServer           = "https://www.veikkos-archiv.com";
In the links I added https://www.veikkos-archiv.com/ - without effect Kyebert (talk) 17:33, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply

I think there is a different customization causing your menu to not see this page. My mobile menu does not have the "Recent changes" or "Special pages" entries.
Perhaps there is a conflict with a MediaWiki extension? I see you have the Semantic MediaWiki extension installed which supports a mobile interface. I do not have this extension. I suggest disabling this extension to see if there is any effect. Lady G2016 (talk) 18:38, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sematic MW - maybe an approach. But still no effect... I keep on searching... :/ Kyebert (talk) 19:33, 22 November 2024 (UTC)Reply
