ROBOTS CONTENT NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW (CLOSED)

[edit]

Hello, I was hoping you could point me to the correct place for my suggestion. I found your name on this project here. I would like to see <META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> on pages that have nothing to do with the encyclopedia.

The reason I ask this is because I was blocked from the English wikipedia for sock puppeting.[1] I did abandon my old account but it was not to sock puppet the block was still enforced, then my talk page was locked when I attempted to explain the situation.

I would (obviously) like to leave this behind me but it appears wikimedia is going to "stalk" me indefinitely by indexing the sock puppet page NR 1 under my real name. As indexing this page serves no purpose to anyone I think it is a good idea not to index this type of page. I tried adding: {{ meta: | noindex, nofollow | robots }} As you probably know that didn't work. Could you forward this or tell me where I should post this suggestion? Thank you, 84.104.135.86 06:21, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi - I have absolutely no idea of what you are talking about nor do I have any administrative authority on Mediawiki.org. Sorry. Jean-Lou Dupont 15:26, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Error message when accessing Special:AWCforum Forum

[edit]

Hello, I have the BizzWiki installed as well AWCforum Extension, which is a special page-based forum.

Am getting the error:

HNP: action awc_ForumAdmin not found in namespace dependant array. HNP: action awc_ForumAdmin namespace dependent but called from NS_SPECIAL.
HNP: action awc_ForumMod not found in namespace dependant array. HNP: action awc_ForumMod namespace dependent but called from NS_SPECIAL.
HNP: action awc_CanNotView not found in namespace dependant array. HNP: action awc_CanNotView namespace dependent but called from NS_SPECIAL.
HNP: action awc_CanNotView not found in namespace dependant array. HNP: action awc_CanNotView namespace dependent but called from NS_SPECIAL.
HNP: action awc_CanNotView not found in namespace dependant array. HNP: action awc_CanNotView namespace dependent but called from NS_SPECIAL.

Not sure what to do... add namespace? add rights? Any assistance would be most welcome. --Jeffmcneill 02:27, 28 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi - you could try registering the actions (i.e. rights) with hnp_r: since I do not know enough about AWC, I can't guarantee that it will integrate with HNP. Jean-Lou Dupont 22:51, 29 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for the response. I am sorry but I don't know how to do this. Please forgive this question if it is obvious, but what should I add to the registry? I understand how to add namespace rights but not actions. Thanks again! --Jeffmcneill 05:10, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Nothing is obvious with HNP I am afraid ;-) You could try something like {{#hnp_r: awc_CanNotView | I }}. Jean-Lou Dupont 12:14, 7 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Hi Jean Lou,

This message just to inform you that I have transformed your Extension:ImageLink in "another" extension Extension:HttpImage to handle image by http (sought, we know the url of the image, but has we take just an image per site on a lot of sites, don't want to build interwiki links).

There is very little code differences between both. Perhaps could you had this feature to Extension:ImageLink with a url parameter ? In this case, no need to have Extension:HttpImage !

Other possible approach : that I clean the code of Extension:HttpImage just to transform it to an extension of your Image class. But still TWO extensions for the users.

Have you a preference ? Best regards, --Eric Larcher 13:21, 28 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

My PHP setup is broken for the moment - I am waiting for the PDT release for Eclipse Ganymede which is supposed to be soon. Once I get going away, I'll to integrate your change. Jean-Lou Dupont 21:05, 29 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Updates for MediaWiki

[edit]

Any chance you can update your extensions for Mediawiki 1.13? Hyo-son

Yes please. I would like to use Secure HTML, but apparently StubManager doesn't work for 1.13.2. Thanks for the good work. 89.167.221.3 13:00, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

I managed to break the extension by upgrading from 1.15.0 to 1.17.0, any idea what stops the tag working? BigglesPiP 18:26, 30 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Toolbox (Sidebar)

[edit]

I want the toolbox just to be shown to sysop. I am using SidebarEx. Is that possible? Sachein 15:22, 28 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

HeaderFooter

[edit]

Hi! I cannot believe this, but I just found Extension:Header_Footer after having written Extension:HeadersFooters. Mine is still experimental and very buggy but I like some of the concepts (__MAGICWORDS__) you used. I also can't believe the names are so similar and that I never found/searched that name and found yours! I notice you don't specify a license for your code, if you BSD-compatible (not GPL please) it then I would love to look through it and see what I can learn, being just a beginner. If I get mine to a working order do you mind if I redirect the page to my maintained one (but not before)? Anyways, I'm glad I'm not the first one to think of this! --Olivier Beaton 20:31, 29 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
