PDF Extension

[edit]

Hi GĂŒnter,

I am Thomas - a phd student from Stuttgart. I am new to PHP. I wanted to use the [[Extension:PDF|PDF Extension]. Unfortunately I couldnt get the extension to run. I got the error as described on the discussion page of that extension and I was wondering if you could explain to me why this problem occured.

Viele GrĂŒĂŸe, Thomas, Thbaero 21:20, 20 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hallo Thomas,

Beta status => Status beta, etc.

[edit]

Hi Gunter, I don't know if it was you who changed Template:Extension, as it was an anonymous edit. The new wording for the categories are pretty wierd. "Beta status extensions" is more grammatically correct than "Status beta extensions". Would you object to me changing it back? --HappyDog 17:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello HappyDog,
thank you for asking. Yes, I do oppose. Even though grammatically less correct, I prefer it, because all "Status xxx extension" list neatly together under the letter S as subcategories in category extensions. Otherwise it is very difficult to look for the status categories, especially if you do not know, which types are possible.
--GunterS 19:42, 23 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Supplying an argument to the category will sort them correctly, e.g. [[Category:Extensions|Status xxx extension]] would solve this. In fact, I'm considering a better organisation of this category tree anyway, which would remove your objection altogether:
  • Extensions
    • Extensions by status
      • Beta status extensions
      • Experimental status extensions
      • ...
    • Extensions by type
      • Hook extensions
      • Parser extensions
      • ...
    • ...and so on.
What do you think? Much better if people browse from Category:Extensions using the expandable tree, but an extra click if not... Even if we don't tidy the category tree like this, the sort order argument should resolve your objection, n'est pas?
--HappyDog 18:40, 25 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
Perfectly happy with that, better than both "old" solutions. ;) --GunterS 22:08, 26 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
The status extensions have now been re-categorised, as described above and as discussed at Category talk:Extensions. Cheers --HappyDog 13:46, 13 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hi Gunter, I'm curious about progress on Extension:UploadCSV, I really need this functionality in place and was about to write one with almost identical functionality. How much progress has been made on it? --Nad 10:20, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hello Gunter,

it seems that the extension only works if the CSV file to upload is stored on the servers file system.

Around here, we do not get access to the server, so the files would need to be uploaded via the web form? Do you think you can fix that?

Best regards,

Bernd

Word2MediaWikiPlus SourceForge Access

[edit]

Hi Gunter,

Can you please give me developer access to the Word2MediaWikiPlus SourceForge project? I have a bunch of modifications that I would like to commit, and there don't seem to be any other active developers on the project. I would be happy to commit to a new branch if you don't want me changing the trunk. I've added support for nested lists, background colors, bookmarks, and anchor links. I've also done a bunch of testing on Word 2007 and made it much more compatible with that tool. My user name on SourceForge is cneubauer as well. I've tried asking Fernando as well. Thanks. --Cneubauer 19:00, 7 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
