Dear Frimelle, Welcome to MediaWiki.org!

Yes, welcome! This site is dedicated to documenting the MediaWiki software, the software behind many wikis, including that of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Please, take a look at the following pages. They might prove useful to you as a newcomer here:

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and find this site useful documentation of the MediaWiki software.

Languages and Wikidata

[edit]

Thanks for your points at Wikimedia_Developer_Summit/2018/Participants. To ensure that we provide real coverage in those languages, and not just content that pretends to be in that language, I'd really like to have some answer to phabricator:T158507. Currently we have search engines index placeholders which have almost no content in the wiki's language, and their HTML states the wrong language codes for the content. --Nemo 14:15, 3 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

  1. This survey is primarily meant to get feedback on the Wikimedia Foundation's current work, not long-term strategy.
  2. Legal stuff: No purchase necessary. Must be the age of majority to participate. Sponsored by the Wikimedia Foundation located at 149 New Montgomery, San Francisco, CA, USA, 94105. Ends January 31, 2017. Void where prohibited. Click here for contest rules.
