Background

[edit]

I am a cultural worker, media artist/educator/consultant and advocate for open, free, participatory, sustainable and equitable media and technology (and world), working with focus on Wikimedia, recently mostly on Wikidata/Wikibase.

In 2024: My team won #3 place in 2024 Zagreb HACKL - hackathon for open Zagreb. I plan on attending: Green Tech Hackathon 2024 Amsterdam and Wikidata at the 38th Chaos Communication Congress

Technical

[edit]

In the field of technology I have expereince with FLOSS research, deployment, supporting development of UI/UX work. I take part in hacker events, contribute to developments of open software, web and media projects. My team won #3 place in 2024 Zagreb HACKL - hackathon for open Zagreb...

sustainability

[edit]

In an effort for technical sustainability I try to use (and advocate) for devices and software that have good reparability and/or long-life like Thinkpad X220. I use lighter versions of software when possible like: Lubuntu and sporadically Haiku operating systems and when not, than at least somewhat less bloated Linux Mint and MS Windows 9. If you are interested in any of these practices and advocacy feel free to get in touch.

My toDOne list might include.:

[edit]

I joined MediaWiki and recommend it to users who are looking for good understanding of software and how it is made and (default) used. My contributing:

  1. learning about systems, workflows, tools and policies
  2. supporting new developments
  3. start contributing to style, UI and UX work
