About me
I develop new systems and integrations for the Crossref service. Crossref is a central linking hub for scholarly citations. We assign DOIs, which are persistent identifiers, to scholarly articles, books, journals etc. We also store metadata about scholarly publications.
I'm interested in persistent identifiers, scholarly citation on the web and traffic analysis.
I'm also interested in playing and dancing European traditional balfolk, bagpipes (except noisy Scottish ones), bee keeping, boat living and the Clojure programming language.
My work
My current focus is on tracking how DOIs are used on the web and also on linking clinical trial identifiers to publications.
Using the Crossref referral logs, we can see how many DOIs have been followed from Wikipedia pages: http://chronograph.labs.crossref.org/domains/wikipedia.org
or from subdomains: http://chronograph.labs.crossref.org/subdomains/de.wikipedia.org
or how many times an individual DOI has been followed from Wikipedia: http://chronograph.labs.crossref.org/domain-dois/wikipedia.org/10.1097/CCM.0b013e3181aa6117
I'm also working on Crossref Event Data, tracking amongst other things DOI activity in Wikipedia.
