The live demo (https://codepen.io/Krinkle/pen/VwGWgqN) that is provided at the end of the section is outdated, and an updated version should be provided, using .on() instead of .hover().

Thank you for updating the live demo. As an added benefit, the code based on on() can very easily be written in vanilla JavaScript, simply by using addEventListener and classList.
