Tracking stories linked to articles

If someone was involved with w:id:Listyo Sigit Prabowo, how would they find out about w:id:story:This? There will need to be some kind of cross-namespace watchlist, history, and notification listing.

If a user has a page-block on a mainspace page, they should also be prevented from linking stories to that page. And what if an article or other mainspace page has semi-protection or ECP? Will that apply to linked stories?

Hello, glad that you found creating a story fun! And thanks for sharing your questions. In trying to understand your first one correctly, do you mean the ability to be informed about stories affecting an article the same way you can be informed about changes to the article itself? That is a good point, we can file a Phabricator ticket for further exploration. Currently, every story has its own page in the Story namespace (for example Wikipedia:Story:Tiram ) but more improvements are expected as Wikistories evolve.

You raise a good point in the second question as well, this type of user permission check is currently missing. I have filed task T316131 put this in the team's radar.

> do you mean the ability to be informed about stories affecting an article the same way you can be informed about changes to the article itself? Exactly! Stories aren't part of the page source, but they appear at the top of the rendered article. Article-to-story is a bit like category-to-article: watchlist an article will show when a category is added to it, but you can't watch a category and see when it gets new articles. Designing a general-purpose tracker for "what links here" could be challenging, though. Or should the link between an article and its stories go in the other direction, like with templates? Thanks for filing the Phab ticket!
