First impressions – Pelagic

Hi, I stumbled on Wikistories from the post on Movement Strategy Discourse. Though I don't read Bahasa Indonesia, I boldly created a story-board / slide deck for tiram (oyster).

Creating a story for the first time was a much more fun than I expected. I think this has great potential for user engagement. I hope my concerns about the feature will be allayed as I learn more and as the product develops.

Finding images is a limitation. The default search for “Tiram” on Commons returned some reasonable images (I recognise a photo of mine! didn't use it) but they weren't the best match for the text. I wish there was an easy option to select from the images that are already used in the article. Knowing how Commons search works, and using English search terms, gave me more choice. I'd love to know what we can do on Commons and Wikidata to help good images to be findable for new users in diverse languages.

It wasn't obvious how to re-order tiles in create mode, though I managed to do it in edit mode. Perhaps I wasn't tap-holding long enough?

More thoughts to follow.
