Can't Click Preference Tabs.

Summary last edited by Arnavutsezgin 19:15, 28 October 2020 4 years ago

It was "a permissions error with the 'WikiEditor' extension directory."

I solved this problem in Chrome in version 1.35.0 by uninstalling the VisualEditor plug-in.

I installed a MediaWiki recently, and apparently I can't click tabs under the 'Special:Preferences' page. I see tabs like 'Appearance' and 'Editing' but clicking them does nothing and doesn't remove you from the main preference page there. Like 'they don't do anything' but they should take you to the page.

Searching online only finds some really old posts with this issue that suggest it was fixed or could be a 'Javascript' block of some sort, but I've confirmed I'm not blocking Javascript and this appears to be the case between browsers aswell I've tried-- I've tried, Chrome, IE, Firefox and Edge.

I'm using 1.33.0 (bd1e435) 07:29, 15 August 2019 according to the Special:Version.

EDIT: Apparently, I traced this back to a permissions error with the 'WikiEditor' extension directory. It's fixed now!

I have the same error, can you show me how to fix it?

True. Using Chrome and doesn't work. Even after removing extensions

It can have several underlying causes, start a new thread if you are experiencing this.
