The german wikipedia has very often maps of some area with a position marker, the map is created from some image and an overlay with the position marker that seems to be created magically from wikidata.

An example of such a map is de:Muro_Lucano

When a hovercards pops up, the position marker is not shown which is IMHO not very helpful. You can reproduce that hovercard in the first line of de:Liste_der_Bischöfe_von_Muro_Lucano.

When I go to https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muro_Lucano and click on the map, I expect a page with a bigger version of the map with the position marker still displayed. But all I get is a map of a country without a position marker which is not very helpful. In my opinion that is the actual problem to solve, and not creating some workarounds in Hovercards/Page-Previews code.
