The search results for this wiki offer the wrong help link. I think it's because the page MediaWiki:Search-helppage needs to be created, and with this content: Help:CirrusSearch.
Topic on Help talk:CirrusSearch/Flow
I think it should be changed in the PHP code so to correct it on all wikis. If the MediaWiki message is created on this wiki, it will be good only here.
See Help_talk:Searching#New_help_link_on_search_pages for the truth of the matter.
While there, please note how many discussions there should actually be here...
Help:CirrusSearch remains very problematic.
I support a change like that discussed here as well. I see we're agreeing mostly. Pinging @PrimeHunter/@PrimeHunter-en.
When CirrusSearch became the default search engine '''for Wikipedia and MediaWiki''', some of the info on the Help:Searching page became, and remains, confusing to most people who come upon it. I posted a warning, but it's been removed: @Cpiral reverted 37 intermediate edits by 19 users in one swoop. I hear you, Cpiral, that the default search engine for mediawiki hasn't changed, but that's hardly a great reason for a wholesale revert of all that. Some other improvements were lost with the bathwater too.
Restore a warning like this perhaps:
[!] When CirrusSearch became the default search engine '''for Wikipedia and MediaWiki''', some of the info on this, the Help:Searching page became, and remains, confusing to people who come upon it. This page documents the default search engine for mediawiki, which hasn't changed.
? (Perhps swap the two sentences? Add dates?)
This discussion thread asks for a MediaWiki.org wiki admin to redirect the help link that shows up on every search results page, to Help:CirrusSearch. Our (mediawiki.org wiki) Search is less helpful otherwise.
Any discussions about our Search should naturally proceed here, since we use CirrusSearch. But there are misplaced discussion threads about our Search. They are at Help talk:Searching where the misplaced help link goes.
Thankfully an admin can fix this.
