There should be an option for delaying the appearance of hovercards while over a link. In Greek Wikipedia the community has long ago decided to add an additional delay of 0.2 seconds, but this should be customizable inside evreyone's options (and additionally on the side of a hovercard), giving more options. We might get negative feedback if this option is missing (well, in Greek Wikipedeia we already have).

Hi, sorry, I meant to address this earlier. I posted this in reply to FocalPoint, yesterday:
The developers working on Hovercards have requested that the El-wiki not change the site-wide default, because that will alter the data obtained from analytics, and therefor it would make the research either more complicated, or less useful.
Instead, they request/recommend that editors who individually wish to override the defaults, should use the personal user.css config that is described at Extension:Popups#Show.2Fhide_timing.
Could you either tell me where to post that message on El-wiki, or perhaps even translate it and place it wherever most appropriate? (If FocalPoint hasn't done so already!) Much thanks.
Ah, FocalPoint has replied at my usertalkpage to say he is going to handle the message.
Hi Quiddity (WMF). Asking people to change their css instead of giving them the opportunity to visually adjust the tool or at least through their preferences means that we target very experienced users only.
A handy fine tuning tool would target everyone and give useful, dynamic feedback in just two weeks and a stable base for the rest of the analytics, from a point of view. More visual customization is about to come, like frame and font size.
Let's do as programmers please for now. FocalPoint has indeed left a translated message for all in Agora of Greek Wikipedia.
Personally, I agree. I love options/preferences/settings. I think the few that are offered in Reference Tooltips (see screenshots there) would be excellent additions to Hovercards. The difficulty is that developers generally try to avoid adding user-preferences, whenever possible, because it creates: More code to write, more code to review, more code to maintain in future years, and more sources of possible bugs. Hence, it can take a while (and many users requesting the same thing) before userpreferences are added to any software.
For anyone else reading this, the font size change that ManosHacker refers to, is at phab:T94957.
To my opinion it is not asked by many users, but if people want this, we can make a gadget with the css configuration for the delay. Quiddity?
I have implemented it as a gadget.
Sorry, I've been busy at a training workshop for the last few days. Thanks for taking the initiative and making the gadget. :)
What?
