Any text in parentheses seems to be omitted. Is this a bug or a feature?

Quiddity (WMF) (talkcontribs)

It's a feature.

IIRC, the decision originated with the problems that occur regarding 'pronunciation/etymology', which is generally within parentheses in the first sentence (and is sometimes quite verbose), and the pronunciation templates don't seem to extract very well..

E.g. See en:Monk versus this screenshot (of both Hovercards and Navpopups) to see how all 3 differ.

Oh, and birth/death dates & location, which also take up quite a few characters.

Thank you!

Okay then, this might be a feature for some languages, but for the de.wikipedia it's a huge disservice that keeps the very most vital information from personal articles hidden: "Albert Einstein (* 14. März 1879 in Ulm; † 18. April 1955 in Princeton, New Jersey) war ein theoretischer Physiker. ..." is shown as "Albert Einstein war ein theoretischer Physiker. ..." So please, dear developers, make it depending on the language or at least configurable for every single user.

Now filed as phab:T91344. Please edit or add details, there. Thanks.
