We use single sign on for all web applications, meaning users can use the same login/password everywhere. The SSO backend is Atlassian Crowd, which integrates directly with Atlassian software (JIRA and FishEye). MediaWiki uses the CrowdAuthentication plugin. Crowd is backed by an OpenDS LDAP directory. The crowd admin console is at [1].
