This template translates a MediaWiki language code into a BCP47-compliant one to be used in HTML lang attributes. The two are mostly the same (for example, Englishâs code is âenâ in both systems), but sometimes they are different (for example, Serbian using Latin script is âsr-elâ in MediaWiki but âsr-latnâ in BCP47).
