[edit]The Wikimedia Technical Community Newsletter shares highlights and news from the past quarter and information about events coming up in the next quarter.
Features
[edit]- The Wikimedia Hackathon will be happening May 20-22. The Hackathon will be held online, with virtual sessions and hacking rooms to participate in, so anyone can attend. If you'd like to host a session, please sign up! You can also add projects you plan to work on or are seeking help with. There will also be in-person meetups around the world.
- The third workshop on the topic of "Writing Pywikibot scripts" as part of the "Small wiki toolkits" initiative will take place on Friday, April 29th at 16:00 UTC. You can find more details on the workshop and a link to join here.
What's new
[edit]- PAWS has had an interface upgrade to JupyterLab. The Notebook interface that was previously used is being discontinued by the upstream project.
- There is a new public status page at www.wikimediastatus.net. You can read more about this project.
- Toolhub was updated on 2022-03-15 for the first time since 2022-01-05. The update adds a number of features including improved search functionality, many improvements for creating and editing lists, support for multiple authors in a toolinfo record, a recent changes feed, and backend support for "annotations".
