[edit]- A new MediaWiki logo was chosen after a proposal period and several voting rounds.
- Wikimedia is promoting a total of 13 projects in Google Summer of Code 2021 and Outreachy Round 22.
- Work continues on the Toolhub project. During the January-April 2021 quarter, the team added several major features including Faceted search and support for creating and editing toolinfo.json records through the user interface. The team is now working on the final set of "1.0" features and planning for a production launch in July-August 2021. Follow their weekly progress reports on Meta for details of the ongoing work.
- PAWS can now connect to the new Wiki Replicas. Cross-database
JOINS
will no longer work from 28 April. There is a new way to connect to the databases. Until 28 April both ways to connect to the databases will work. If you think this affects you and you need help you can post on Phabricator or on Wikitech.

- Gerrit: 345 people wrote patches (170 of them being volunteers) in Q1/2021.

[edit]- Wikimedia Hackathon 2021 - May 22-23 2021 (Virtual): This event is open to all people who are interested in discovering the technical aspects of the Wikimedia projects, working on specific tools, features or projects, and socializing with other participants. Building on last year’s edition, this event is organized in a very light mode, offering a lot of space for spontaneity and experimentation.
