Bumping a discussion on the use of (also) blocks in link previews. I would like to explicitly confirm this is a feature, and perhaps note in somewhere in the documentation.

Thanks for reaching out.
Unfortunately, I do not have the answer for that, Wikipedia Preview is a different project from Page Preview and is not related to it.
Apologies for the confusion!
We have also created a Wikipedia preview box. It works on both desktop & mobile and is very easy to use on any website, including WordPress (there is no plugin yet). As far as I know, it works quite well on the websites (of course, it's not perfect yet).

Feedback is warmly welcome.

I installed it on my wordpress site and it recognizes the links and try to show previews, but it fails to load anything and has an error message On my site it is in Swedish (which is nice!) "Det uppstod ett problem när förhandsvisningen skulle visas." which roughly means "A problem occurred when displaying the preview."

Secondly, when clicking on the Read more on Wikipedia link, annoyingly it goes to the mobile website even if you're on a desktop.
Thanks for trying out Wikipedia Preview and giving feedback. We're really sorry for the errors. We are fixing it. See https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T287688
About the second issue, I am surprised by your experience. It goes to the desktop site when I try it. Are you using a laptop with a touch screen by any chance?
I am. A Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition with Ubuntu 20.04. My usual Wikipedia browsing has never shown the same behaviour though.
