Delay?

After adding TemplateData to the templates /documentation page, is there a delay before it is used by VisualEditor? (Experiencing this with en:template:RailGauge). -DePiep (talk) 20:59, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

@DePiep: Yes; the addition goes into the JobQueue system, which right now is over a week long on the English Wikipedia. :-( If you do a null edit on the template it will pull through immediately, however. Sorry for the inconvenience. Jdforrester (WMF) (talk) 22:44, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Note: A null edit is one where no changes are made. Just click edit, and click save. This means it won't be a problem if you do it to a highly used template. (See w:WP:NULL for details). Not to be confused with a "dummy edit" (eg adding a random space) which editors sometimes use to add an edit-summary message related to their prior edit. :) Quiddity (talk) 02:47, 15 July 2013 (UTC)

TemplateData and Commons TemplateBox

Commons has a standard documentation format, commons:Template:TemplateBox. I'd like to ask whether it is possible that TemplateData be integrated into the templateBox. Maybe the syntax would go as:

List of used templates

Hi! I need (for plwiki) a list of templates used in specific space, for example in main. The "Special:MostLinkedTemplates" gives a list for all spaces. Enwiki has lists separated by space - how obtain such result? Cheers, Ency (talk) 21:05, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

Appearance of page

Any reason for the weird layout and subtitle boxes? Because current one is quite non-standard. Also image explanations as caption might be better. --Usp (talk) 08:14, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

There is already Help:TemplateData. Seems they duplicate each other. I guess Help:TemplateData is the more persistant place when this is more like temporary project page. --Usp (talk) 05:22, 10 March 2014 (UTC)
