I do not have Visual Editor enabled on this wiki and, in fact, I rather hate Visual Editor. Why am I forced into it when I click the edit button to respond to your questions? (Please ping if/when responding, I don't keep a watchlist on this wiki.) - Jmabel (talk) 15:30, 2 August 2021 (UTC)

Me too, I don't like it. After seeing something in my text, there I see "edit .. text" (I forgot the exact words). The first time I didn't see that, only visual editor. ~~~~

Hi @Jmabel, Richardkiwi: I guess you have to disable it in your global preferences. This actually comes as a surprise, since I too have disabled VE ages ago, but the system doesn't force me to use it. Please, let me know if you encounter still this problem, I'll help you set up a Phab ticket with this bug.
