Getting better PostgreSQL support
[edit]It sounds like we are running low on volunteers and developers who actually run PostgreSQL day-to-day. So here are some fairly easy places to reach out to Postgres users and developers:
- PgDay, Sunday, July 24, 2011, in Portland just before OSCON
- San Francisco's PostgreSQL Meetup Group, Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 7:00 PM
- Maybe submit a talk requesting MediaWiki support at PgWest? PostgreSQL conference, September 27th - 30th, San Jose.
- People who have talked about MediaWiki on Postgres mailing lists
I'm happy to find the mailing list folks but MW developers are far better placed to make contact in user groups or give talks. Sumanah 16:25, 7 July 2011 (UTC)
- Perhaps the scope of needed skills could be narrowed down as well. The release notes for 1.17 show a lot of issues related to the installer which probably many users don't encounter in their day-to-day work and requires more architectural decisions anyhow. --Tim Landscheidt 03:11, 8 July 2011 (UTC)
