Reposurgeon tool may be useful

The new reposurgeon project [1] [2] may be useful.

It is designed to help cleanly migrate projects from SVN and CVS to GIT.

git protocol?

No. The git protocol, while faster, is insecure. An attacker could potentially MITM the connection and mess with your data. ^demon (talk) 22:30, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
