[edit]- Requested user-rights: Autopatrolled and Translation administrator.
- ThesenatorO5-2 (talk • contribs • logs • rights • global account)
Firstly, I did approximately 500 edits globally, and I have participated in the translation of pages as well. I also have a knowledge about copyright and vandalism. I would like to participate in flagging pages for translation and also translating pages as I am a native Chinese speaker. I am also a developer of Kiwix iOS and macOS version, and have moderate experiences in Java and Swift 5.3. I hope I qualify now. I am also interested in creating documentation pages for new extensions developed, so I want those pages to skip reviewing.
- Oppose The opposition found during the first application is still relevant: no obvious need, premature request, weak history, incomprehension of the role of admin presented in the Header, no usefulness in relation to Gerrit or Phab, hat collecting. ThesenatorO5-2, I suggest you close your application before receiving an avalanche of opposition again, as received during the first application. There's no point going through each wiki to ask for rights while you're starting up. —Eihel (talk) 16:38, 10 August 2020 (UTC)

- Hello @ThesenatorO5-2: , There are different issues:
- When an application is proposed and contributors have expressed themselves, you cannot completely change the request. Otherwise the opinions expressed no longer have any meaning.
- During a discussion and only on the pages dedicated to them, you must sign your writings. This allows others to see who the author is. To notify someone, you have to sign, because neither goes without the other.
- I'm not a specialist in zh, but this translation seems to be better before than after your visit. Rundl132, Liuxinyu970226 or 94rain, can give us an opinion on this translation, or even check the other translations. For this translation and this one, they do not conform to the original text, since they are links. Translations must be accurate and not an interpretation of the original text.
- The different communities prefer to grant additional rights to those who have proven their skills, or to those whose need is undeniable. You can help by replying a question. Imagine that you are administrator of a site and that someone arrives, whom you don't know "neither of Eve, nor of Adam", and who asks you for rights to change your site more in depth. How do you react? By replying this question, you will understand that I remain in my position.
- Finally, no one is your "Bro" here; and writing in capitals or in bold means that you are yelling at your interlocutors. —Eihel (talk) 11:49, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Well, I understand. ThesenatorO5-2 (talk) 12:06, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

- Strong oppose Use case given includes rollback, but 0 manual reverts and 0 undos, no established need. "If you're not a developer, you do have to give some good reason to get any privileges" - requirement doesn't appear to be met, cross-wiki hat collecting. Also, not an established contributor here, less than 50 edits --DannyS712 (talk) 00:38, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- PLEASE NOTE THAT I AM A DEVELOPER OF KIWIX AND I HAVE PROVIDED REASONS FOR THE REQUEST! ThesenatorO5-2 (talk) 10:39, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

- Your only contribution to Kiwix that I see is this documentation PR from today. How were a Kiwix developer three weeks ago? – Majavah talk · edits 11:23, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- The reason is that I just started. ThesenatorO5-2 (talk) 11:24, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- Also, I am working on it and will publish a PR after it. ThesenatorO5-2 (talk) 11:27, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
- About my statement of being a dev 3 weeks ago: That statement is false. I have removed it. ThesenatorO5-2 (talk) 11:41, 11 August 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose. Answers show lack of experience. No demonstrated need. —user:Hasley 13:09, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
Not done again. No demonstrated need. Please stop submitting superfluous requests. You have shown nothing that merits any of the access you have requested. Being a developer of some other software like Kiwix does not count towards anything here; for me I only grant +sysop procedurally (without a typical 1-2 week wait for permissions requests) for those with Gerrit +2 access against MediaWiki core or a WMF-deployed extension. Translation administrator requires a good understanding of the translation system and preparing pages for translation, something I haven't seen you do at all. Simply translating pages does not require translation admin. Autopatrolled requires being a known quantity here with a decent bulk of contributions, and you have fewer than 100 edits here. Edits on other wikis once again are meaningless here, so bringing up global edit counts doesn't help your case any. --Skizzerz 15:47, 11 August 2020 (UTC)
