I am a data scientist at the Wikimedia Foundation. Recently, I've been working with the Inuka team to experiment with providing locally-relevant content suggestion to users of the KaiOS Wikipedia app (phab:T254724).
In order to serve these recommendations without having to build a custom API, we're going to be automatically uploading them as pages on this wiki like Wikipedia for KaiOS/engagement1/trending/en/2021-01-01. I want to set the pages to the JSON content model and to protect the, to avoid disruption to our experiment; we may also want to delete all the pages later in order to turn off the experiment.
In order to do these things, I would need administrator rights on this wiki. Can I have them? I do a lot of documentation on this wiki as well, so they would be generally useful, but I'm also fine with just getting temporary rights for the duration of this project (the next 4 months should be plenty).
Thanks for your consideration!âNeil Shah-Quinn (WMF) (talk) 10:49, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- Â Done I might also suggest just updating one page instead of creating a page per-day, but it's not really a huge thing IMO. Legoktm (talk) 17:54, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Legoktm: Thanks! I talked about it with them team, and we will just update one page as you suggested :)âNeil Shah-Quinn (WMF) (talk) 15:42, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
