I'm going to add {{Unknown copyright|date=May 2012}} to at least 194 file pages. I also might add {{Unused file|date=May 2012}} to some unused files which don't already have the template. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 12:30, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

- Bot tasks really should be given more time for people to discuss,
{{Unused file|}}
is kinda pointless these days since we don't delete unused files (unless they are copyrighted, or lack copyright statements), Although the template or its documentation doesn't mention it, It generally should only be used with {{unknown copyright}}
. Also the File usage
table is a pointless way to check for usage on this wiki, since they can be used in many other ways (eg: CodeReview, Bugzilla for a couple) without being counted. Decriptive summaries should also be used for bot edits, Fixing unused file without the template.
is not in my mind. Peachey88 (talk) 21:42, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- I agree. Creates some work for sysops. At least be specific about whether it was added or not.--Jasper Deng (talk) 21:44, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- The idea behind this was to tag files with
{{Unknown copyright|date=May 2012}}
and{{Unused file|date=May 2012}}
so that we could then go through and delete pages where both templates were correct. It used the API equivalent of Special:UnusedFiles. Yes, it does create more work for admins. One of the global sysops said 'then go & cleanup, otherwise I'd have to cite you as an example of local unwillingness of the RFC'. I'm not sure what you mean by 'At least be specific about whether it was added or not' - about whether what was added or not? --Krenair (talk • contribs) 22:08, 13 May 2012 (UTC)- Previously it said "Fixing" instead of "Adding." I think that RFC is ridiculous, just from the thought of it.--Jasper Deng (talk) 22:12, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- Does it matter that the wording for each task was different? Both of them make sense to me. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 22:16, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
- Fixing refers more to syntax in my opinion, but I don't really care either.--Jasper Deng (talk) 22:22, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
