[edit]- Requested user-rights: Translation administrator.
I am a MediaWiki.org admin and translation admin in the Wikidata and Meta-Wiki. In my current work needs to translation adminship rights.--Kaganer (talk) 20:38, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'd like a comment from an existing translation admin before this is done... I'm still unclear about the exact function and potential damage of that group. --Krenair (talk ⢠contribs) 21:39, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'm the "existing translation admin" (in other Wikimedia projects) ;) Believe me ;)
- This flag allows to manage the translation process was done by Translate Extension. This include:
- Mark pages as translatable (through this feature), and remove this mark. This mark leads to the prevent of direct editing for subpages with translated texts.
- Approving changes of source pages as need to be update of appropriate translations
- Manage of aggregate message group
- It's all. This doesn't intersect with the administrator's rights. See more in the Project:Translation_administrators#Translate_extension.
- This flag requires translator qualification, experience with making of translations at the Wikimedia projects, and knowledge about the how this extension works.--Kaganer (talk) 11:52, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
- I'd like to confirm Kaganer's statement. Although, I'm not a translation admin here, but also on Wikidata and Meta-Wiki. The permissions here are exactly the same. In my opinion, he can be trusted with the tools. Regards, Vogone talk 23:52, 5 March 2013 (UTC)
