Requested user-rights: Administrator.

My need: I'd like to do patrolling of pages that are not on topic for MediaWiki (things like "My Resume", and blocking spammers in the process), and to make noncontroversial tweaks to protected pages (I'll ask for discussion before bigger changes). Short description: I'm an end-user who's beginning in PHP and likes to crawl through MediaWiki's underpinnings, one day hoping to be proficient enough to gain an understanding of how to write extensions (I have many good ideas). I run a multi-wiki installation using CentralAuth (yep, I sometimes do things the hard way).Jasper Deng (talk) 04:12, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't see a huge need for this. We really do have admins, global sysops and stewards jumping over each other to remove spam, and the other speedy deletion requests don't need to be cleared right away. That being said, I don't really care which way this request goes, and thanks for volunteering. Ajraddatz (talk) 04:33, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • I mean, my primary role here right now is testing out my favorite (e.g., subset of) extensions and posting replies on the support desk for common issues. The sysop bit is useful for my patrols.Jasper Deng (talk) 04:36, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I support this candidate because anyone who is willing to help is usefull, is there any objection against, other than that we already have a lot of sysops? Petrb (talk) 09:49, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I strongly support this, in fact I was surprised he wasn't an admin already. --Krenair (talk • contribs) 20:52, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, it doesn't look like someone else is about to participate on this so let's count the votes... 1 + 1 + 0 = 2, that's positive number, welcome on board and thanks for volunteering with the maintenance. Yes Done Petrb (talk) 14:18, 4 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For future reference, this isn't a vote. ^demon (talk) 15:48, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
