The MediaWiki Users and Developers Conference , Fall 2024 (MUDCon), formerly SMWCon , was held November 4-6, 2024 at Gasometer D in Vienna, Austria. The conference was organized by the MediaWiki Stakeholders' Group with the help of its sponsors and partners.

Conference audience and mission

The MediaWiki Users and Developers Conference Fall 2024 was a three-day conference featuring discussions of topics related to the usage of MediaWiki software by and within companies, non-profits, governments, organizations, and communities, including the Semantic MediaWiki community. If you use MediaWiki or you're interested in it, we would love to see you attend.

This conference aims to:

  • inspire/onboard new users
  • inform on where and how MediaWiki is used
  • convey and consolidate best practices
  • initiate/foster/integrate application and development
  • strengthen the community of stakeholders and its service portfolio

The keynote "Empowering Knowledge Workers" was presented by Karsten Ehms, Siemens on November 5, 9:45 CET.

Remote attendance

The event was streamed to YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@SemanticMediaWiki - remote attendees could use the comment function on the live stream. Exceptional online presentations were given via Zoom link (for presenters only).

  • Monday: Informal get-together at 7Stern Bräu (Siebensterngasse 19, 1070 Wien)
  • Tuesday: Conference dinner at the Heuriger 10er Marie at 7:00pm CET (Ottakringerstraße 222-224)
