Manual talk:Maintenance.php

I want to create a cron script to run several maintenace script at once, instead of running one by one in cron command line. So How can I use a Maintenance class for this purpose? I read example on Maintenance, but it seems Maintenance script should contain a function and code block. So is the only way to do it is a batch script? Please advice.
