Using the example command on MW 1.42.1 returns:

NOTE: Do not run maintenance scripts directly, use maintenance/run.php instead!
      Running scripts directly has been deprecated in MediaWiki 1.40.
      It may not work for some (or any) scripts in the future.
*******************************************************************************

...so I have to assume the example should show one of the following:

php maintenance/run.php findMissingFiles.php
php maintenance/run.php findMissingFiles

I'm refraining from editing the actual page because I'm not 100% sure whether either of these are correct due to not getting any feedback at all from running either one (no message indicating {success but nothing found} nor an error message). Also there should probably be some mention of when (which MW version) the change was introduced, and I don't have that information. Woozle (talk) 15:12, 16 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
