Expiration de la liste de suivi

Présentation

Une nouvelle fonctionnalité de la liste de suivi est incluse dans MediaWiki 1.35  : l’expiration de la liste de suivi. Grâce à cette fonctionnalité, vous pouvez choisir de suivre temporairement une page pendant une période de temps donnée. Une fois que la durée de suivi a expiré, la page est automatiquement supprimée de la liste de suivi. Vous pouvez modifier la durée de suivi à n’importe quel moment et passer d’un suivi temporaire à un suivi permanent si vous le souhaitez. Les pages suivies temporairement sont normalement représentées par une icône en forme de moitié d’étoile (par opposition à l’étoile entière qui représente les pages suivies de manière permanente).

Si vous souhaitez continuer à suivire des pages de manière permanente, vous n’avez pas à changer vos habitudes. Le processus permettant à un utilisateur de suivre des pages de manière permanente n’a pas changé.

Comment suivre une page temporairement

Il y a trois manières principales de suivre des pages temporairement. Ces trois méthodes suivent toutes la façon dont vous pouvez suivre une page de manière permanente, mais vous avez maintenant l’option de suivre une page temporairement.

Suivre une page via l’icône étoile ou le lien « Suivre » (sur la vue pour ordinateur et mobile)

1. Cliquez sur l’icône étoile () ou sur le lien « Suivre » en haut de la page.
2. Vous verrez que la page est suivie de manière permanente par défaut.
3. Vous verrez un menu descendant surgir, intitulé « Durée du suivi : ». Choisissez une des options pour la durée dans le menu déroulant. Votre choix sera automatiquement enregistré.
4. Vous pouvez quitter ce menu surgissant en cliquant dessus, ou vous pouvez attendre qu’il disparaisse seul après quelques secondes.

5. Si vous voulez suivre une page de manière permanente (plutôt que temporairement) via l’icône étoile ou le lien « Suivre », vous n’avez pas à changer votre manière de faire actuelle. Le menu déroulant aura « Permanente » sélectionné par défaut.

Suivre une page via la modification du wikicode (disponible sur ordinateur)

1. If you are currently editing a page, and you are using the source editor, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the checkbox to “Suivre cette page”.

Note that the 2017 wikitext editor is not supported.

1. Choose one of the time period options in dropdown, and click “Publier les modifications”.

1. Note: If you want to watch a page permanently (rather than temporarily) when editing, you don’t need to change your current process.

The dropdown will have “Permanent” selected as default, so you can check the box to watch the page and click “Publier les modifications”.

Suivre via action=watch (disponible pour les vues des ordinateurs de bureau et pour les mobiles)

1. Visit any action=watch version of a page.

This can be accessed by right-clicking on the star icon () or the “Suivre” link. You can also directly access the action=watch page by typing in the relevant URL.

1. Choose one of the options in “Durée du suivi :” dropdown, and click “Suivre”.

1. Note: If you want to watch a page permanently (rather than temporarily) on the action=watch page, you don’t need to change your current process.

 The dropdown will have “Permanent” selected as default, so you can simply click “Suivre”.

Comment modifier le temps de suivi

You can change a watch period at any time, either to a new temporary period or to a permanent period. There are multiple ways to do this, as described below:

1. Via star icon or “Suivre” link (desktop & mobile):

If you are watching a page temporarily, and if you click on the star icon () or “Suivre” link, you can remove the initial watch status and rewatch the page with a new duration. To be clear, you are not changing the watch period, you are unwatching the page and then "rewatching" it, possibly with a different watch period.

1. Via source editor (desktop):

If you are editing a page with a source editor, you can change the current selection in the drop-down to a different time period. The new selection will be updated upon saving your changes. Note that the 2017 wikitext editor is not supported.

1. Via action=watch (desktop & mobile):

You can revisit the action=watch URL associated with a page to modify the watch selection. In addition, you can visit the action=unwatch version of the page to unwatch the page and choose a new selection.

Comment gérer temporairement les pages suivies

There is no way to receive notifications when a page is about to expire or has expired from your watchlist. However, there are many ways to track and monitor temporarily watched pages, which we have detailed below.

1. Via star icon or “Ne plus suivre” link (desktop):

If you are watching a page temporarily, hover over the star icon () or “Ne plus suivre” link to see how many days are left in the watch period.

1. Via dropdowns (desktop):

You can see how many days are left in the “Durée du suivi :” dropdown. This dropdown is available when editing a page with the source editor or if you visiting an action=watch page that is already being watched.

1. Via clock icon (desktop and mobile):

On Special:RecentChanges, Special:RecentChangedLinked, and Special:Watchlist, you can see a clock icon for all temporarily watched pages. For desktop users, when you hover over the clock icon, you can see how many days are left in the watch period. For mobile users, when you tap on the clock icon, you can see how many days are left in the watch period.

1. Via Watchlist editing (desktop & mobile, advanced mode):

You can see all temporarily watched pages in Special:EditWatchlist, sorted according to expiration date. The items that are set to expire first are at the top of the list. The items that are watched permanently remain sorted alphabetically, and they are displayed below the temporarily watched pages. Note that this feature is available in advanced mode for mobile users. To turn on advanced mode, go to your settings page on the mobile site and select "Advanced mode".

Supprimer, renommer, protéger, bloquer, téléverser, restaurer, etc.

Nouvelle période de suivi

You cannot set a watch period or change an existing watch period when performing certain actions, such as delete, move, protect, block, upload, rollback, etc. However, you can choose to modify the watch status after the action has been performed. Refer to the above section "How to watch pages temporarily" for instructions on how to do this.

Durées de suivi possibles

Si vous avez déjà choisi une durée de suivi temporaire, et si vous cochez la boite pour « Suivre cette page » lorsque vous effectuez une action (suppression, renommage, protection, blocage, téléversement…) le statut de suivi temporaire sera préservé. Cela est aussi vrai pour les annulations automatiques sur les pages suivies. Si quelqu’un d’autre choisit d’effectuer une action (suppresion, renommage…) sur une page que vous suivez temporairement, le statut de suivi sera également préservé. Dans le cas d’un déplacement, la page d’origine et la nouvelle page conserveront toutes les deux le même statut de suivi temporaire. Après avoir déplacé une page, voous pouvez modifier séparément les durées de suivi pour la page d’origine et la nouvelle page.

Limites de cette fonctionnalité

Pas de valeur par défaut

There is no way to make temporary watch the default when you click the star icon. Each time you watch a page the default is permanent watch and each time you need to change this to a temporary duration.

Prise en charge des mobiles

You can watch a page temporarily via the star icon and action=watch page in mobile view. However, you cannot temporarily watch a page via the mobile apps, since the apps do not currently support the ability to watch pages.

Comportement de VisualEditor

If you are editing a page in VisualEditor, you cannot choose a temporary time period via the “Suivre cette page” checkbox when saving changes. However, if you are already watching a page temporarily while editing in VE, and if you have selected “Suivre cette page”, your current watch period will be preserved.
