Add an image allows users to add an image and an appropriate caption to a Wikipedia article. These images suggestions should generally be accurate. However, some suggestions may be unsuitable for the article. As a user, your role is to determine if the image is the right one, depending on the context.
Where can I find these images?
"Add a image" has been added to the wikis starting in December 2021.
"Add a image" is available on both mobile and desktop. As other Growth features, "Add a image" is not available on Android and iOS apps.
These images can be found on the Homepage.

How does this system work?
Images are suggested by a machine. And machines aren't perfect!

For each article, we provide one image to review. Two different tasks can be suggested:
- Dodaj ilustrację do artykułu bez zdjęć suggests a image to an article without any image.
- Dodaj ilustrację do sekcji artykułu suggests a image to an article that already has images, but where a given part of the article has no image.
Kiedy zaakceptujesz obrazek, będziesz musiał(-a) napisać krótki podpis. Dopiero wtedy twoje zmiany będą mogły być zapisane.
How to add images
- Krok 1
- Go to your Homepage
- The homepage is the central place where are all other Suggested edits.
- Krok 2
- If not already done, enable "Sugerowane edycje".
- Krok 3
- In Suggested Edits, select "Dodaj ilustrację do artykułu bez zdjęć".
- At some wikis, you can also select "Dodaj ilustrację do sekcji artykułu".
- You can select the topic you want to work on.
- Krok 4
- Find an article you'd like to work on.
- Krok 5
- The article opens in "Suggested edits" mode.
- You will see a small explanation panel, that summarizes how "Add a image" work.
- Ilustracje pomagają ludziom zapamiętywać informacje, ale wiele artykułów nie posiada obrazków.
- Zdecydujesz, czy zaproponowany obrazek powinien zostać umieszczony w artykule Wikipedii.

- Ilustracje pochodzą z Wikimedia Commons – zbioru multimediów na wolnej licencji, który jest wykorzystywany przez Wikipedię.
- Spójrz na zaproponowany obrazek
- Zdecyduj, czy obrazek powinien trafić do artykułu, korzystając z nazwy pliku, opisu i powodu, dla którego został zasugerowany.
- Możesz również powiększyć obrazek, aby lepiej mu się przyjrzeć.
- Spójrz na artykuł
- Przejrzyj artykuł i pomyśl, czy zaproponowany obrazek pomoże czytelnikom zrozumieć treść. Czy jest odpowiedni, aby trafić do treści?
- Zdecyduj, czy dodać obrazek
- Propozycja może nie być związana z treścią artykułu, obrazek może mieć niską jakość albo nie pasować z innych względów. Użyj swojej własnej oceny, by stwierdzić, czy propozycja jest poprawna.
- Kiedy zaakceptujesz obrazek, będziesz musiał(-a) napisać krótki podpis. Dopiero wtedy twoje zmiany będą mogły być zapisane.

- It is time to choose if the suggested image should be added.
- Have a good look at the article, to know more about its topic.
- Zdecyduj, czy obrazek powinien trafić do artykułu, korzystając z nazwy pliku, opisu i powodu, dla którego został zasugerowany.
- Krok 7
- Review the image carefully.
- Przejrzyj artykuł i pomyśl, czy zaproponowany obrazek pomoże czytelnikom zrozumieć treść. Czy jest odpowiedni, aby trafić do treści?
- You have the following choices for the image:
- yes (it will add the image)
- no (it won't add the image)
- I don't know (it won't add the image)
- If you click on "no" or "I don't know", you will be asked why the image is not the right fit. This way, we can improve suggestions.
- Krok 8
- Add a caption
- Write a brief description showing why this image is relevant to the article.
- Adding a caption is mandatory.
- This caption will appear below the image.
- Review the image details to find information that is relevant to include. It could be a date, a location, a detail in the picture, etc.
- Describe the image in a way that makes it clear how it relates to the article. Write the caption using your own words.
- Avoid adjectives such as "good", "ugly" or "pretty" to be neutral.
- Write in the language of the article.

- Review and save
- When you have added the caption to the image, click on "Opublikuj zmiany...". A summary is displayed.
- If you are satisfied with your choice, click again on "Opublikuj zmiany..."
- If you want to change your caption, click on the cross.
- If you want to see how the image is inserted into the article's body, click on "Kontrola zmian".
- Done!
- You have successfully added an image to Wikipedia!
- Your edit is immediately visible in Wikipedia's recent changes page. It has been tagged as a Suggested Edit.
Troubleshooting
These features are available for new accounts. Older accounts need to enable the Homepage and the Help panel in their preferences. Discover how to enable these features.
At the moment, this feature is only available for some users (A/B test). A way to get Add an image to your account is provided for users willing to test the feature.

Images are suggested because they are used at other versions of Wikipedia, or because they are used on the article's Wikidata item.
"Add a image" is part of the "Structured tasks" project, from the Growth team.
Add a image adds a new standard way to edit the wikis. Before, users could use "wikitext editing" or "visual editing". Add a image adds a new edit mode "suggested editing".
