You can type in the Malagasy alphabet with the special letter N̈ and the other necessary diacritical marks!

To enable this keyboard layout, do the following:

  1. Click the search box at the top of the page.
  2. Click the little keyboard icon that appears near the search box.
  3. If "Malagasy" appears at the top of the list, select "Malagasy tilde".
  4. If "Malagasy" doesn't appear at the top of the list, do the following:
    1. Click "..." at the bottom of the list. A panel will appear.
    2. Find "Malagasy" in the panel. Click it.
    3. Click the little keyboard icon again, and select "Malagasy tilde".

To disable this special keyboard and go back to type usually, click the little keyboard icon and then click "Use native keyboard", or press Ctrl-M. To re-enable the Malagasy keyboard, repeat the steps listed above.

To type the Malagasy letter N̈/n̈, type the tilde (~), and after it type the Latin letter N/n. For example, to write Antsiran̈ana, type Antsira~nana.

You can also type the diacritical marks ◌̀ and ◌̂. To type accents above the letters, type the letter, and then type tilde (~) followed by \, /, and ^. Examples:
