Questions about OooRender

Here are my questions about OooRender:

1. Is "OooRender" still an active extension and is there someplace where people are discussing its usage and problems since it's MediaWiki discusion doesn't appear to be used?
2. How does "OooRender" compare with "Helios for Word"?
3. Has anybody had any experience using "OooRender" with Bitnami's Ubuntu "MediaWiki" "app" VM or Linux in general?
4. What is/are the proper value(s) for "$wgOooRenderAllowMacros"?
5. Can anyone provide an example of fully populated and annotated configuration information for OooRender and examples of its usage to load each file type it supports?

Hello, extension author here. Here are some answers:

1. This is the first time I've checked this page in nearly two years, so no it is not active. :) There is nowhere else to discuss it that I know of.
2. Helios appears to be a tool for editing wiki pages in Word. OooRender is a MediaWiki extension that allows various types of document to be embedded in wiki pages with useful previews.
3. Not me...
4. Standard PHP true and false.
5. It sounds like you need help with your settings in general. Here's the relevant part of my LocalSettings.php:

   require_once("$IP/extensions/OooRender/OooRender.php"); $wgOooRenderOooPath = "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\OpenOffice.org 3\\";
