Extension talk:Halo Extension

Older version

I am attempting to locate and older version of the Halo extension that displays correctly in IE7. My community will be using IE7 and in few cases IE6, and they do not have the ability to upgrade their own browsers. This extension could really be an asset to my community, but I am unable to use the current version.

I too was looking for (any) version of Halo, but many resources related to Halo have recently disappeared. After lots of looking, I found the code for Halo and several other related extensions on SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/projects/halo-extension/files/SMWHalo%201.7.0/SMW%2B%20Extension%20Suite/

I know this answer is a few years late, but I wanted to share it for those others looking for Halo or SMW+.

Install over already running wiki?

Hello. Can I install this over a mediawiki already runnung semantic mediawiki? As in will it erase what I have already?

yes, you can simply install Halo following the manual instructions. None of your content will be deleted in this process.

Unsupported operand types

hi,

we tried to install the halo extension - version 1.5.2.2 - , but inserting the include_once-lines into our LocalSettings.php led to the problem that absolutely NOTHING was displayed when calling our wiki online. Consulting our error.log-file showed us that there is the fatal error "unsupported operand types in /.../SMW_Initialize.php on line 63" . Can anyone think of any suggestions or fixes??

I would like to hint you at our new Halo release 1.5.6 that you can download here. Please check if the error occurs with this version. If yes, please file a bug here choosing Halo extension as component.

MW 1.17+ and SMW 1.6+

I have been following this suite of extensions very intently. My existing wiki runs MW v1.17+ and SMW v1.6+ (and SF v2.2+). Having had problems installing and configuring Halo v1.5.6 due to incompatible versions, I was wondering if it would be impolite to ask when you would estimate these versions to become compatible so that I can determine and plan the iteration cycles of my project?
