What has gone well?

[edit]
  • Focusing on the projects we can ship for end of the quarter, making great progress
  • Pageviews stuff is going well - we have a good chance of making our two project goals this quarter
    • Working with MusikAnimal has been awesome
  • Chat with Brian and Bartosz about Numerical sorting was productive, they are both interested in helping out
  • Deadlink logging API stuff is going good.
  • IA folks might lend us there dead link detection trick bag - that would be awesome but might take a little long
  • In community discussions about WMF going off the rails, Community Tech cited as the 1 bright spot :)

What could have gone better?

[edit]
  • No Frances :(
  • ED drama was a huge distraction (esp in the SF office)
    • Yeah, too much email backlog and depressing conversations on -staff
    • And some fantastic people left. :(
  • Some friction between Max (Cyberpower) and IA
  • TCB's watchlist work is mysterious
  • We could probably be taking more advantage of TCB collaboration, although it takes some effort to manage

What else is on your mind?

[edit]
  • When is Bryan transitioning?
  • Hackathon/GSoC -- help with managing 11+ projects?
  • Could we possibly scope out and mentor a student for one of our Top 10 projects? Ryan suggested user watchlist project but he might not be available to mentor.

Deeper discussions

[edit]
  • GSOC mentorship
    • Probably not this year. Already working with lots of different parties and too many unknown variables.

Action Items

[edit]
  • Kaldari: Ping Bryan on transition date
  • Kaldari - Write up plan for PageAssessments on Mediawiki.org - roadmap, MVP requirements
