Category talk:All extensions
Add topicHi, I'm just now learning more and more about wiki's and am trying to figure out what our company can incorporate into our own wiki. Our wiki is kind of old I guess in that it's version 1.5.6. Is there an option to view available extensions by version number? I think this would be a useful feature for many users looking to add functionality while not having to entirely upgrade a system. Thanks. --130.164.65.21 18:31, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, that information just isn't available. Most extensions only get officially tested against one or two versions of the software (often just against the latest version at the time it was written). They get informal testing in the sense of people using it on other versions, but often that information isn't passed back here. Also, when new versions of MW are released, most aren't retested. If there was a way to capture compatibility information reliably and usefully then we will add categories so that it is easy to find, but at the moment it is all too unreliable, as far as I'm aware. --HappyDog 21:45, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
system messages for extensions?
[edit]While installing and customizing extensions, I have noticed that the labels they use for system messages seem to be all over the place. (In other words, I can't find the system messages for a particular extension by searching for a single prefix or even substring.)
Would anyone mind if I started going through a few extension pages here and adding a table or list or something documenting which system messages each one uses, or would this be considered useless information? --132.170.64.170 14:04, 31 August 2011 (UTC)
