Dear Stang, Welcome to MediaWiki.org!

Yes, welcome! This site is dedicated to documenting the MediaWiki software, the software behind many wikis, including that of Wikipedia and the Wikimedia Foundation projects.
Please, take a look at the following pages. They might prove useful to you as a newcomer here:

If you have any questions, please ask me on my talk page. Once again, welcome, and I hope you quickly feel comfortable here, and find this site useful documentation of the MediaWiki software.

Thanks, and regards,.--Grind24 (talk) 12:24, 26 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

CrystalBot tasks

[edit]

Hi @Stang,

I just noticed Tasks 2A and 2B where getting actioned and didn't see what when I actioned the rights requests as it was added as a note after someone's support. Are these redirect actually needed anymore, The search function should now be picking up these mentions in text (this wasn't always the case back when that bot request was originally discussed). AdminBot actions

[edit]

@Stang,

Also just checking if there is any consensus for running group changes like this 04:38, 31 July 2022 Stang talk contribs block changed group membership for DMontalion (WMF) from autopatroller to (none) (Bot: -autopatroller, no longer working for WMF) (thank) on your main account? These accounts all get globally locked so there isn't any need to remove the rights automatically. P858snake (talk) 22:09, 30 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

T321111

[edit]

Hi @Stang, I am contacting you regarding ticket T321111, Why put a value for wgSemiprotectedRestrictionLevels? I noticed that it causes a minor problem with translation messages (Semiprotectedpagewarning) in arwiki, It appears in Notes as a protected page for autoconfirmed users only Although it is a protected page for editeditorprotected or editautoreviewprotected, So should I delete the wgSemiprotectedRestrictionLevels value in arwiki so that a translation message (Protectedpagewarning) is used? -- Gerges (talk) 11:34, 21 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
