Add topicCommunity Updates: sharing initial designs
[edit]The Growth team will test a new module on the Newcomer homepage that can be used by communities to highlight important community events and initiatives. This Community Updates module will be Community Configurable, so communities can decide to highlight specific events, projects, campaigns, and initiatives, that are set by admins using Community Configuration.
We are sharing initial designs with our pilot wikis (Arabic and Spanish Wikipedia), the Wikimedia Event Organizers Telegram group, and also sharing our plans here. This moduleâs final design will depend on your feedback.
The hope is that this new module will help new editors deepen their involvement with the wikis and connect with other contributors, projects, and community initiatives.
